“Amazing”, how Asa, a 14-year-old camper, describes the atmosphere at Camp ROYAL. He’s a dual-sport athlete riding Mountain Bikes and Scooters, hailing from the mountains of North Carolina. Asa has been coming to camp for the last three summers and he loves it.

“This is my second summer at camp, I just like getting close to the lord, and also getting to ride bikes and scooters. You get to grow in two ways.” Asa said. “My entire family is a big fan of ROYAL!”

On average, ROYAL brings in 400 campers per year, and this year nearly 70% of all campers are returners. “It’s just a great place for your kid with lots of good influences and good people around,” Asa states.

The Ritchey’s are another family that adore ROYAL.

“It’s just a really positive and good environment,” said Cliff Ritchey, long time friend of the Royal team, who has performed many roles at camp over the years. He continued,“If you are around people that are encouraging to you, It makes you want to be there. I think people want to be here because they want to be around other people that are doing their thing.”

“I’m just here for the magic, this place is incredible!” Former camper, now staff member Cove Richey exclaims.

Camp Royal not only brings people in for the Action-Sports side of things, but it’s a place where people are given the opportunity to grow in their faith. Being able to foster long-term friendships and bonds that last a lifetime is just a side effect of the “Magic” Cove Ritchey talks about. “There’s something special about this place,” said by so many people.
