Dustin’s story is a powerful example of how God can use one “yes” to change the direction of a life. His journey with ROYAL began almost ten years ago, and through faith, obedience, and community, it has shaped who he is today. This is his testimony—shared from his own experience of walking with God through the ROYAL family.

A Journey Sparked by Obedience

While still in college, Dustin stumbled into a retreat that would change the course of his life. There, he met Brandon Heideman and was introduced to the heart of ROYAL. A year later, at just 20 years old, he made the bold decision to drive from New Mexico to West Virginia and join the team—trusting God with the unknown and stepping into what would become a lifelong journey. That single “yes” opened the door to growth, community, and a deeper understanding of his identity in Christ.

Bold Faith That Shaped His Life

Over the next eight years, ROYAL became the place where his faith was strengthened and his confidence in God took root. “The biggest impact ROYAL has had on me… is the boldness it instilled in my faith” - learning to put “Glory to God” first in every moment, whether attempting tricks or having meaningful conversations. He learned that he was a son of the Most High, created for purpose, and called to live as royalty. That bold faith didn’t stay at camp. “In the business world, faith became my number one topic of connection.” He carried it into his career, where faith became the foundation of his relationships and partnerships, shaping both his work and his witness.

From Life-Changing Moments to Lasting Impact

Today, he has the privilege of leading the Royal SEAL Team and helping guide operations, continuing the legacy that once shaped him. Along the way, ROYAL also gave him unforgettable memories—like the night he hid in a bush, shook an entire tree, and roared at unsuspecting teammates who thought they were being attacked by a wild animal. As they ran, stumbled, and flew over fences with someone yelling, “Run! It’s a bear!”, he laughed, calling it “glorious.” From moments of deep prayer to moments of pure joy, his journey with ROYAL has been a blessing. He remains grateful that God placed him in this family, giving him the opportunity to love others and point them toward their true identity in Christ.
