Bend, Boards, & Big Faith

We’re stoked to announce that ROYAL is partnering with an incredible leader in Bend, Oregon to bring Mobile Camp to the Pacific Northwest! Meet a longtime action sports missionary, worship leader, and entrepreneur - Jacob Bailey - who’s been quietly (and not so quietly) reaching hundreds of kids in his local community for years. His life is a fusion of passion for Jesus and action sports, and now we get to team up with him to do even more.

Living the Mission Everyday

When he’s not carving powder on the slopes, dropping into a bowl, or riding dirt bikes, you’ll find him leading worship at Westside Church for youth, young adults, and missions teams. He’s also the co-owner of Central Oregon Gymnastics Academy, currently expanding with a 62,000 square foot facility, and founder of Bailey’s Sports, a local outreach-driven initiative. Add to that his role with Gentle Lion, a men’s ministry in the area, and decades of experience serving ministries like BGEA, CMN, the Luis Palau Association, and Promise Keepers—and it’s clear: this guy is all in.

For the past nine years, he and his team have run action sports camps and clinics in their community through Truckstop Action Sports, introducing hundreds of kids to both new tricks and the transforming love of Jesus.

A Divine Collision

The connection with ROYAL started years ago through mutual friend Jake Kinney—someone who has also deeply invested in action sports outreach. “Jake introduced me to Brandon seven years ago when we ‘happened’ to be at a Woodward camp the same day,” he shared. “We’ve stayed in touch because of our shared passion for action sports and heart for God.”

That connection has grown, and last summer he and his wife Jordan visited Camp ROYAL’s home base in West Virginia. “We were blown away,” he said. “We love the high-level athletic training combined with faith-based mentorship. Helping young people grow in both skill and identity—what could be better?”

The Power of One Moment

When asked why he wanted to bring ROYAL Mobile Camp to Bend this summer, he didn’t hesitate. “Because we love the outreach and ministry component to action sports. It’s what we’ve been doing, and it’s what we want to keep doing.” He’s most excited about club time. “I used to help lead Skate Church at our old indoor skate park. There’s nothing like those moments—kids sitting down after a session, open to something deeper. I’ve seen lives change there.”

He doesn’t point to a single dramatic story that helped him connect to the kids we are serving, but a thousand small ones. “Sometimes it’s just being at the park and helping a kid drop in for the first time—giving them the confidence and encouragement to try. Spiritually, it’s being a steady, positive light in their world, especially for those who come from tough home situations. Loving on them and sharing Jesus in real ways—it’s what makes the difference.”

We believe that difference can echo through a lifetime. We can’t wait to hit Bend, Oregon with this team and see what God does. One camp. One crew. One mission: to show kids how priceless they are in Jesus while living the action sports life.
